They weigh about the same to be honest. The printer may weigh slightly more as
there are more moving parts involved. I weighed them to be about 10 Oz. Or
roughly the weight of a half full water bottle. Heavier than a regular banana.

Still a bit bulky but will fit in a fanny pack or purse. The design is sleek so
I don't feel silly busting it out during occasions.
VS the mini 8:
I spent a lot of time debating which camera to get. In the end it came down to
style and efficiency. I anticipate a lot of bad shots using the mini 8. And at
roughly 80 cents a shot you will eventually reach the price of a mini 70. The
mini 70 also has automatic exposure control and a selfish mode with mirror, so
you have less of a chance of messing up your shot. The design of the mini 8 is
perfect for teenagers or college students. If you are a male or feel a little
too old to bust out what looks like a toy, I'd go with the 70 or 90 even.
VS printer:
It all comes down to use. A camera is good for capturing moments on the spot.
The printer would be good for the scrapbooker or to hand out as a gift.
Although the instax share app does give you the option to print directly, it is
still not as satisfying as printing it instantaneously from the camera.
Cons:
The battery :( cr2 is a weird battery choice but there are rechargeable options
that hold less power. If you you want to be green, you're going to to want to
spend the extra 15 to 20 dollars on rechargeable batteries. The mini 70 allows
for about 30 shots on cr2 batteries.
